  • Overview

    The Strategic Communications & Change Management Lead will be the main client point of contact and will oversee the planning and execution of all communications and change management efforts for a government contract. In this role, you will be a leader who can thoroughly understand the client’s business, anticipate needs, manage expectations, provide strategic solutions, and motivate a small team to execute plans.


    • Advise senior-level government executives on communications and stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as developing and overseeing a communications strategy to support program related goals and objectives
    • Identify creative and innovative ways to position and promote the client’s programs
    • Develop and manage an integrated communications schedule
    • Manage a team of 1-3 people responsible for producing deliverables in the areas of outreach/events, communications, change management, and graphic design
    • Manage complex projects with multiple workstreams and multiple stakeholders
    • Communicate directly with clients on project plans and review/approval of deliverables
    • Set client expectations regularly and build positive, healthy relationships
    • Create consistent messaging and conduct editorial reviews of all final materials
    • Lead evaluation of communications metrics
    • Ensure quality solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction
    • Other assignments related to communications, change management, and business development may be assigned


    • At least 10 years of marketing and communications experience in a consulting firm environment with demonstrated success in the design and execution of marketing campaigns for government clients
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
    • Strong creative, writing, strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in managing a team of 3+ people
    • Advanced project/program management skills and demonstrated experience in successfully managing a cross-functional team
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
    • Proactive and results-oriented leader who wants to help build a high-performance team; collegial team player who can work in a small team environment; comfortable working in a multi-cultural, matrixed environment
    • High degree of endurance and flexibility to work through multiple iterations of work and quickly manage changing client priorities
    • Ability to deliver under pressure and provide informed responses to leadership in short timeframes
    • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
    • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
    • Familiarity with Agile methodology
