REI Systems is looking for a Junior Test Engineer with experience in building and enhancing test automation frameworks to join our team. In this role, you will be part of the Software Verification and Validation (SV&V) team responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality products through software testing principles, test automation, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving. Your contributions will make an impact on the critical missions of our government clients, solving challenges that aim to improve millions of lives across the globe. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed test designs using sound software test engineering principals in the context of test automation platforms and integration across distributed systems; 
  • Communicate with development teams to develop requirements for test cases; 
  • Automate test cases and use KPIs to track progress over time; 
  • Write SQL scripts with inputs from data stewards;  
  • Track and log issues, defects, and enhancements found during testing;  
  • Validate software is ready for production and user acceptance environments utilizing test method(s) approved in the test plan; 
  • Develop and improve existing test automation frameworks (i.e. make them faster, more flexible, and easier to use) and utilize parallel processing or grid systems to speed up the tests; 
  • Write comprehensive test plans for functional, regression, acceptance and stress testing 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multi-vendor environment to understand complex interaction between systems; 
  • Conduct 508 compliance audits. 
  • Perform manual test execution and validation as required; 
  • Other similar professional duties may be assigned as needed. 

Qualifications

  • .S. Citizenship required;  
  • Must be able to obtain a Government security clearance; 
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in testing, including planning, test execution, and analysis; 
  • 1-3 years of experience in developing automated QA test suites using tools like Selenium, Redwood HQ, Silk, TestComplete (SmartBear), Junit, SortSite (508 Compliance);  
  • Knowledge in management tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA Platform, Wiki, SharePoint; 
  • Strong skills in any one programming language, preferably Java, is a plus; 
  • Strong SQL skills is a plus; 
  • Exposure to backend services/microservices testing is a plus; 
  • Ability to review complex code and write unit test cases; 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills. 

   

Education/Training  

 

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, math or related field is desired; 
  • Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training or experience.
