The Training and Change Management team at REI Systems is growing!

We are building a new division of our Training team for a new project with the FDA and are looking for a Training Project Manager to lead this new team.

As the Training Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving the strategic vision for training, determining stakeholder training needs, providing an effective strategy, working with the team to deliver training sessions and materials, and evaluating the success of each training project. The right candidate embodies excellence in training, customer service and leadership.

We are looking for a self-motivated leader who can understand the big picture and also execute with an eye for detail. The Training team will be expected to work directly with software development teams to understand the systems and business process and create innovative and effective instructional materials focused on helping our FDA stakeholders adopt new and evolving IT systems.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of Training Specialists by providing expert guidance on training development, client relationships, and system navigation.

  • Mentor team members to help them create high quality materials.
  • Motivate the team to work well collaboratively and inspire cohesive teamwork.
  • Review team members’ materials and delivery and provide constructive and effective feedback.

Lead the development of the overall training and change management strategy in alignment with related systems project plans.

  • Determine the appropriate training methods, materials, and delivery.
  • Determine and plan communications strategy for specific training initiative.

Analyze stakeholder training needs and identify all the nuances of the system impact on the stakeholders.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements for training, communication, and change management needs.
  • Guide stakeholders to properly assess their training needs.

Gain and maintain subject matter level expertise of the system and business processes, through independent research and collaboration with others.

  • Learn how to quickly navigate new systems, understand how they work, and translate that into user-friendly language.
  • Swiftly grasp complex business processes and workflows and integrate that understanding into instructional material.
  • Proactively provide feedback on tools and process improvement opportunities to internal teams.
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of the system modules.

Create innovative, engaging and effective instructional materials with a focus on helping people use software to complete their daily tasks.

  • Materials include, but are not limited to: help videos, instructor-led training courses, user guides, tip sheets, wiki pages, email communications, etc.
  • Elicit feedback, internally and externally, on materials and collaborate on incorporating feedback.
  • Write in a user-friendly and system accurate way.
  • Review team member’s materials to ensure accuracy, proper grammar, section 508 compliance, user-friendly language, and effectiveness.

Expertly deliver trainings to stakeholders on new and evolving systems.

  • Training methods include in person, remote, and hands-on.
  • Clearly communicate business purpose as well as system instructions.
  • Facilitate training presentations clearly, effectively, and professionally.

Write and review communication materials highlighting system changes, benefits, etc. to inform impacted stakeholders.

  • Write in different styles to engage, inform, or train stakeholders.
  • Write clear, effective, and concise communication materials.
  • Review and edit materials from team members to provide expert level feedback on grammar, style, and effective messaging.

Develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

  • Lead coordination, administration and follow-up of training events and the administration of surveys and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
  • Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience developing instructional materials, technical writing/editing, and teaching in an adult environment.
  • Experience leading a team of training specialists.
  • Solid expertise using MS Office products.
  • Expert-level oral and written communication skills with a proficiency in writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of user-friendly, customer-ready materials.
  • Expert-level presentation skills with experience in providing instructor-led trainings.
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, creativity, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with leading projects and teams.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, with capacity to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and within time constraints.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding follow-through.
  • Familiar with a variety of Instructional Design concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to develop a subject-matter expertise through materials provided, individual research, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle and ability to translate software development language into user-friendly language.
  • Ability to understand and write about complex scenarios.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with software development teams, government agency stakeholders, and creative teams.
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance.
  • Experience using Vyond, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, or Audition or similar tools is a requirement.
