Responsibilities

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will perform a variety of technical and clerical accounting duties involving financial record keeping and/or transactions; specifically, the essential functions of the Accountant will be:

 

Accounts Receivable (AR) / Billing / Revenue Recognition

  • Prepare, review and submit monthly invoices to REI customers
  • Responsible for performing revenue recognition duties
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders on project revenue, billing and unbillable
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with customers to ensure timely collection of receivables
  • Conduct regular receivables and unbillable reconciliations and provide reports as needed
  • Reconcile payments to pending Accounts Receivables (AR)
  • Enter and process cash receipts in Deltek Costpoint.

Other similar professional duties maybe assigned as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four to five years of accounting work experience (required)
  • Prior experience working for Government contractor (required)
  • Prior experience in billing, invoicing and accounts receivable (required)
  • Knowledge and understanding of revenue recognition (required)
  • Prior recent work experience in Deltek Costpoint (required)
  • Prior experience and knowledge in contract closeout (preferred)
  • Prior knowledge and understanding of labor and timesheets (preferred)
  • Prior knowledge of using Cognos reporting tool or similar reporting tool (preferred)
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

 Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required
