Project Overview:

REI Systems is looking for a Database Developer to join our team. In this role, you will support the Design, development, and maintenance of transactional databases. Your responsibility will be to provide technical solutions to the ever-growing needs of the customers with data and database management.


Position Overview:

  • Good understanding of the logical and physical database modeling and design concepts.
  • Experience designing and maintaining database tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Experience in database tuning, query tuning, and indexing.
  • Experience writing complex database queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
  • Work in a collaborative office environment with other developers, business analysts, and a project management team.
  • Work with the development team and implement database policies and processes to ensure data integrity and seamless deployment of application enhancements to testing and production environments.
  • Understand the business needs and work with system owners and project managers to develop and implement complex querying and report solutions using datasets available through existing systems and datasets external to the customer unit.
  • Ensure that new database code meets standards for readability, reliability, and performance.
  • Ensure timely delivery of reports and manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations.
  • Research and identify data issues, prepare migration scripts to populate missing data, resolve conflicts and inconsistencies.


Basic Qualifications:

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training, or experience
  • 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting relational databases like PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ready to embrace a fast-paced work environment with deadlines and new challenges


Desired Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience with PostgreSQL database
  • Experience with improving performance on enterprise applications
  • Experience delivering solutions using Agile delivery practices
  • Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git/GitHub/GitLab
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, business intelligence, economics, statistics, or mathematics.


Clearance: The candidate should be eligible to get a clearance.


Location: This position can be done remotely.
