Responsibilities

  • Understand the complex data model of large Enterprise level system for providing Tier III support
  • Resolve Tier III data support tickets as per the defined SLA
  • Identify defects based on issue trends, customer feedback and error reporting from the system
  • Develop script library and document them for reusing in future
  • Conduct internal KT sessions and create knowledgebase articles
  • Perform impact analysis before changes are made, implement changes, test changes, and document them
  • Assist in Capacity Planning, when performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware updates, server configuration changes, or index/query optimizations.
  • Assists for monitoring performance, monitoring server disk space, monitoring logs, ensuring jobs have run successfully, checking for errors.
  • On-call troubleshooting experience with at least one production SQL Server for a year
  • Work in a collaborative office environment with other developers, business analysts, and a project management team.

Qualifications

Basic Skills:

  • 4+ years’ experience working with relational databases.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of all aspects of SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, including both development and administration is required.
  • Proficiency in writing complex T-SQL queries/stored procedures/SQL Jobs is an absolute must.
  • The position demands strong analytical and troubleshooting skills while working on a custom mission critical production level database
  • Required experience in all areas of MS SQL server 2005/2008/2012 development/administration/maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
  • Good understanding of the logical and physical database modeling and design concepts.
  • In depth knowledge of writing and tuning SQL Server stored procedures/functions/views/SQL Jobs.
  • Experience in writing and modifying SSIS packages.
  • Experienced developer with hands on experience with SSIS and SQL Server

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with performance optimization
  • Experience with Analysis Services is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, information systems management, software engineering, statistics, mathematics or related discipline; or professional certification and in-depth knowledge of database technology and DBA tools
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two years of experience.

Work location/Model: This is a remote role.
