Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in open-source web development and in conducting research on technology solutions
  • Strong leadership and communication skills - must be able to communicate (verbally and in writing) complex technical ideas, and influence technology choices
  • Understanding of business, technical, infrastructure, and information architecture
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to keep abreast with evolving technologies
  • Deep Experience with Microservices applications architecture and in leading technical teams.
  • Experience building applications using Java, Spring boot, JSON, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Databases such as Oracle 12c, Oracle 18c, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience in front end technologies like Angular, and other front-end frameworks 
  • Ready to embrace a fast-paced work environment with deadlines and new challenges
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline and experience in Test driven and Behavior Driven development frameworks
  • Ability to thrive as a member of a highly motivated Agile team
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training, or experience
  • AWS architect certification is required.

Desired Skills

  • Experience delivering solutions using Agile delivery practices in a consulting environment
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git/Github
  • Experience enhancing the performance of high-traffic sites
  • Experince working with Containers and related technologies
  • Experience supporting federal agencies such as General Services Administration would be a plus

 

Work Authorization
US citizenship or Permanent Resident. Strong candidates on a work visa may be considered.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, business intelligence, economics, statistics, or mathematics

Location:  Position is currently remote but post-pandemic may be hydrid from REI HQ, Sterling VA offices
