Responsibilities

REI Systems is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team to support our federal customers. In this role, you will work with various stakeholders at different levels of the organization to assess business needs, gather requirements, and help understand and improve work processes. You must provide diplomatic and timely communication in an agile work environment with iterative planning and delivery cycles.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Sr Business Analyst will:

 

  • Elicit and understand the client’s business needs and mission, define requirements, write user stories, manage a product backlog, and develop prototypes for the proposed solution 
  • Study existing business processes, programs, and/or legacy systems in their native environments, comprehensively analyze existing problems, and understand the areas for improvement. 
  • Analyze and design the proposed solutions while facilitating the development of multiple solution options to address business needs. 
  • Collaborate with developers and test engineers to ensure teams understand the customer’s functional and technical requirements. 
  • Identify and understand customer expectations as part of the requirements-gathering process and act as the primary point of contact for all communication needs during the requirements-gathering phase with the customer. 
  • Facilitate reconciliation of differences voiced by the customer with those in the system proposal, reducing scope creep or impacts to the delivered system’s quality. 
  • Prepare project documentation like meeting minutes, business process documents, and other process workflow diagrams as required. 
  • Other similar professional duties may be assigned as needed. 

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or related position
  • 2-3 years of experience working with an Agile implementation team writing user stories, grooming product backlog, and planning out release planning.
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, definition, analysis, and preparing requirements documentation.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle of Agile IT projects
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects (if required) and good documentation skills.
  • Good analytical thinking skills and a team player
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Excellent Communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
     

Education: Bachelor's degree in business and management, information systems, computer science, or other related field 

 

Clearance: Eligible to obtain a public trust clearance

 

Location:  Hybrid, coming 1 to 2 days a week to Sterling VA office
