Position Overview:

As a Principal within REI System’s Advisory Services Business Unit (ASBU), you will be focused on contributing to the growth strategy, running growth operations, and leading a portfolio of federal and civilian accounts. As the Growth Operations and Account Lead, you will be expected to use your experience in the federal market to build strong client engagement; identify opportunities; engage agency-specific partners; coach and mentor team members; and capture new work for REI within assigned markets, leveraging REI’s existing Business Development resources as needed. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

The successful candidate will have experience advising senior U.S. federal government and public sector clients in developing and implementing holistic solutions and possess prior experience building and leading a portfolio of client engagements for an established management and technology consulting company.  As a key member of the ASBU leadership team, you will be responsible for overall growth operations developing strong delivery teams, while driving business development in assigned markets. The selected candidate will lead and mentor teams, build strong relationships with our partners and clients, and contribute to evolving the strategy of the ASBU. The ideal candidate will possess both a management and/or technology consulting and business development background.  Additionally, in this role, you will have the opportunity to support REI corporate initiatives and serve as a key partner to our mainline technology business in designing holistic solutions to support our client’s mission delivery and help solve their toughest business problems 

 

  • Run ASBU growth operations, including developing and maintaining growth pipeline in coordination with ASBU account leads and REI business development counterparts. 
  • Lead capture and proposal development efforts for complex management and technical bids (e.g., $50M+ annually) 
  • Advise senior-level government executives, engage in customer-facing solutioning, and cultivate business relationships across the federal landscape. 
  • Lead client delivery and the execution of major programs/projects across a portfolio of U.S. federal and public sector consulting engagements. 
  • Contribute to account lead generation, sales, revenue, and profitability goals. 
  • Drives development and provides oversight of project work plans, budgets, and related artifacts, including analysis of alternatives, communications plans, subcontractor management plans, and risk management plans. 
  • Interacts with both business and technical client stakeholders and communicates complex concepts to non-technical audiences, providing digestible analysis and solid recommendations. 
  • Lead solutioning efforts that are aligned with our clients’ mission and strategic objectives, informed by industry best practices, and that account for various organizational, financial, and technical factors. 
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise across three or more of the following capabilities: Cybersecurity Consulting, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consulting, Digital Transformation Strategy, Strategic Planning, Organizational Development, Organization Change Management (OCM), Strategic Communications, Business Process Reengineering, Training, or Performance Management. 
  • Partner with technology leaders across REI Systems and build teaming relationships to best support the success of large-scale digital modernization and business transformation efforts for clients. 
  • Mentor, coach, and support the professional development of Advisory Services team members and direct reports. 
  • Play an integral role in recruiting, interviewing, retaining, and growing talent at REI Systems. 
  • Prepare and contribute to goal setting and business reviews of the ASBU regarding progress, roadblocks, and any corrective actions. 
  • Serve as a representative and brand ambassador for REI Systems to external partners and at networking and industry events 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Management and IT consulting in roles of increased responsibility with 10+ years of experience supporting the U.S. federal government. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and lead capture efforts for new business opportunities resulting in $5M+ annually. 
  • Experience advising stakeholders at all levels of an agency/organization, including senior-level executives, project managers, and technical staff/practitioners. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design and implementation of strategy for complex business transformation initiatives. 
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively across multiple projects simultaneously in deadline driven and cross-functional team settings. 
  • Demonstrated strong network of trusted client and industry relationships. 
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. 
  • Experience managing scope, schedule, budget and quality across multiple programs, projects, and client engagements. 
  • Experience managing federal contracts and familiarity with the federal acquisition lifecycle. 
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following capabilities: Cybersecurity Consulting, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consulting, Digital Transformation Strategy, Strategic Planning, Organizational Development, Organization Change Management (OCM), Strategic Communications, Business Process Reengineering, Training, or Performance Management. 
  • Experience mentoring and supporting the professional development of team members and building high performing teams. 
  • Certification in one or more capability areas of interest, such as Cybersecurity certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Lean Six Sigma certification from American Society for Quality (ASQ) or similar; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Program Management Insitute (PMI) or similar; Organizational Change Management certification from Advanced Change Management Practitioner (ACMP) or similar; or Coaching certification from International Coaching Federation (ICF) or similar. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • “Big 10” consulting experience 
  • Proven track record in selling professional services to government clients 
  • Strong IT- Business acumen and experience advising customers on IT strategic planning and technology modernization initiatives. 
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field. 
     

Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Master's degree preferred.

 

Clearance:  Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

 

Location: Remote with periodic travel to the DC Metro area and customer sites
