Position Overview: REI people rock! We're fun, driven, passionate people. Our front desk, Junior Administrative Assistant, is our first point of contact for someone calling or visiting our Sterling location in person. We are looking for our visitors and guests to be greeted by friendly, dependable, customer service-oriented individuals. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced, agile environment. The Junior Administrative Assistant facilitates visitors (customers, job candidates, guests, etc.), provides administrative support to REI leadership, monitors and maintains facilities and supplies, and is a consistent and reliable resource for our employees. 

Role and Responsibilities:

At REI as a Jnior Administrative Assistant, you will:

• Provide front office coverage, maintain designated office areas, and manage voicemail messages.
• Route voicemails to the appropriate staff and direct customer inquiries for helpdesk support to the designated points of contact for each contract/program.
• Order, coordinate, and manage office supplies.
• Monitor and coordinate maintenance of general office equipment; maintain common use areas.
• Prepare and circulate general internal correspondence, e-mail messages for general announcements.
• Create and manage FedEx and UPS shipping and return labels as needed.
• Sign for and distribute all delivered packages.
• Provide administrative support to management.
• Develop, maintain and update documents dealing with administrative procedures and contact directories; organize and maintain paper and electronic files.
• Provide administrative support for corporate events and meetings.
• Facilitate and provide administrative support to visitors, job candidates, guests, etc.
• Maintain and update corporate informational charts/general announcements on official bulletin boards.
• Perform general duties to include copying, faxing, mailing and filing.
• Maintain office calendar to coordinate meetings for senior management.
• May conduct research, compile data and prepare papers for consideration and presentation to the Executive team and staff.
• Other similar professional duties may be assigned as needed.

Experience:

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (specifically MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) and ability to master similar productivity tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work well in team environment.
• Professional etiquette and ability to interact with professionals and executives.
• Punctual, consistent and able to meet deadlines.
• Problem solver with ability to work alone in areas of core competence with minimal guidance.
• Willingness to share information, train and be trained, mentor and be mentored with executives, and peers.

Location/Schedule: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm in Sterling VA office and Thursdays in the Chantilly, VA office.

Education: Associate and/or Bachelor's Degree.

Certification: Office Management and Administrative Support is a plus.
