Responsibilities

Project Overview: Application Moderization of an Appian System

 

Position Overview As Lead Appian Developer, oversee complex Appian implementations, ensuring they align with enterprise architecture, data strategy, and security requirements. Responsible for translating business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing applications by leveraging the full Appian platform stack. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, Help shape technical roadmaps, modernization strategies, and adoption plans that drive long-term value. Lead the design of application and integration architectures, including external APIs, cloud services, document management systems, and legacy technologies. Role also involves conducting architecture reviews, enforcing platform and development best practices, and mentoring Appian developers and solution designers to strengthen delivery capabilities and build internal expertise. Additionally, help define and track key metrics that demonstrate business impact, such as reduced cycle times, improved compliance, and increased user satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 7+ years designing and delivering Appian-based solutions
  • Appian Certified Lead Developer (required)
  • Experience delivering solutions across 3 or more distinct client environments, preferably across federal, commercial, or regulated industries
  • Mastery of Appian’s platform capabilities including process modeling, data fabric, security design, interfaces, and record-centric applications
  • Strong background in database design (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), APIs (REST/SOAP), and Agile delivery practices
  • Effective communicator able to articulate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with:
    • Cloud services and architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
    • Authentication and identity protocols (SAML, OAuth, LDAP)
    • DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation
    • Process HQ, Grid+, AI Agents, and other new features in Appian 25.x
    • Working in security and compliance-sensitive environments
